Port Sunlight Lyceum Brass

The Annual Massed Brass Band Concert in Vale Park / New Brighton /Wirral was held on Sun.3rd Sept.2006.

The Bands participating were : Greenalls : Port Sunlight Lyceum Brass : Ellesmere Port 

The conducting of the massed bands was shared by the Musical Directors of the three bands.

This year the bandstand of Vale Park celebrates its 80th.anniversary and it was decided to play music by the composers whose names appear around the bandstand.

The music played consisted of:

The massed programme was played in two parts with each band giving its own contribution in between.

Despite the wet start  the event was most successful, enjoyed by all the band people, and more importantly, the audience whose expressions of appreciation were countless, with requests for the event again in 2007.

The administration was under the control of Friends of Vale Park and their Secretary "Rusty". Thanks to them all from the Bands. 

 

The Massed Band concert for 2009 is to be held on Sunday 6th.September.
